Found Children Series

This 3D work begain in the fall of 2019 with the support and encouragement of my colleage who said, "Robert, just start making stuff and don't think think about it too much!" I had been collecting found scrap wood pieces left over from student projects in the Parsons' Wood Shop on the second floor here at 2 West 13th Street in NYC. In addition, I have been collecting tossed (from PS 41) vintage children's toy blocks. Following brain surgery in 2007 relearning how to talk, walk and write and now living with Epilepsy, I have been limited in using certain hand power tools. The collection unfolding is my first series of this process revisiting "making" with composition and found materials. These works also seem to build and integrate well with my other long term obsession of photographing urban street compositions.
